On the downhill slope til Xmas - wahooo! We've passed the Shortest Day & I've just got home from a real nice winter holiday. And what a sweet holiday it was - HAWAII. Was hardcase to watch 3 of the NBA Finals in a sports bar full of Yanks - I thought All Blacks fans were hard-out.
Gotta say though - seems its still 1950 in Hawaii... they think us girls only spend our husbands money! C'mon....
I was indulging in my favourite sport - shopping.... we were in the store - I handed over my credit card to the salesman, he took MY card from MY hand, ran it through then handed it to MY HUSBAND "can you sign here Mr Donaldson". "That's my card" I said taking it and signing it. He looked genuinely shocked. Kinda pissed me off - but quickly forgotten.
Until the next night. It was my husbands birthday so I took him to a real nice restaurant on the waterfront, and at the end of the night the waiter gave the bill to my husband. "Its his birthday" I said "I'll get that" and gave the waiter my credit card. 2 minutes later - the same waiter came back and handed it to my husband "Just sign there Mr Donaldson".
The olden days called and want their mentality back...
It happened a 3rd time too, later in the week, but you get the picture. I've never experienced that in NZ. Maybe we appreciate the hard working women of this country, good on ya Kiwi boys - you've got it sussed.
Anyways - time for a change here at The Rock and in a couple weeks my new hours will be 9am-1pm, Jase & Dunc will now be doing 1-4pm and Robert & Jono 4-7. Its really exciting for us - and YOU - to introduce a new show to the daytime as The Rock closes in on its 20th birthday in a few months! Where has the time gone...? Plus a studio webcam is about to go live...uh-oh...
