Its existence had been whispered throughout the lands for a long time, with purported images of dubious quality popping up now and again, but now Apple has officially lifted the veil on its pale flagship.
Aside from the paint job there is absolutely no difference between the white iPhone 4 and its black counterparts but lord knows the ashen iteration will still probably do boffo business for Apple all the same.
Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide product marketing acknowledges the new model’s tardiness but says fans will find the wait worthwhile.
“The white iPhone 4 has finally arrived and it’s beautiful.
“We appreciate everyone who has waited patiently while we’ve worked to get every detail right.”
The white device is priced the same as the earlier iPhone 4 models, with a 16GB version retailing for $1123 and a 32GB model at $1328, available through the online Apple store and authorised dealers.
New Zealand is part of the worldwide launch of the white device today; hopefully there will be more units available than there were for the iPad 2’s launch.
The fabled white iPhone finally makes its debut in Apple’s store today.
