Levi in Action!
New Zealand’s FMX sensation, 17 year old Levi Sherwood, has taken out second place overall in the inaugural Australasian Freestyle Motocross Championship at the final round of Super X in Brisbane.
All expectations were on Levi to take out the crown with him having won more rounds than any other rider. However in devastating circumstances a shoulder injury Levi sustained in practice during the week, saw him only able to complete one jump before he had to withdraw himself from the competition.
This left the final open for Kain Saul who tied first with West Australian rider Josh Sheehan, which was just enough for him to take out the championship and finish two points clear of Levi
“I haven’t been able to ride on my shoulder all week and was in so much pain yesterday I was going to pull out. I really wanted to ride today and take out the championship, but after I hit that first jump I knew there was no way I could get through three more. It would have been great to ride out the final tonight. I have been on top of my game all series and I am sure I could have won under different circumstances, but I am still very happy with second overall. These riders are the best in the business and it’s just great to be going up against them,” said Levi.
The worldwide promoter of the Crusty Demons live shows, Michael Porra, said Levi is one of the best riders in the world at the moment and has proven this to a very large audience across the globe throughout the championship.
