I've needed a few wines to write this one, at the moment I'm on my third and in need of a fourth at the thought of another today without my mySky.

Obviously there are larger problems in the world - the lack of a decent train system in Auckland for one, the fact I've been going to the gym now for two months and still have no shoulders is another - but right now from where I'm standing (I'm actually slouching) the impilications of this little black box (not the Stan Walker song) not working are too much to bear.

Can you believe the timing? Last Thursday, one day before the Rugby World Cup is due to kick off it starts making a whirring noise and fails to record or playback anything. I hope this is some sort of nation-wide overload or satteliite problem. I text Bryce and Leah expecting their mySkys to be buggered as well, but no - Bryce's is fine and Leah doesn't bother to text me back.

I ring Sky and they ask me to reset it. I do, same deal, they say I have a problem, I agree, they say they can't do anything until Saturday, I cry and feel like some bully at school has just beaten me up and stolen all my lollies.

Luckily I can still get TV1 and watch the opening ceremony and All Blacks v Tonga game fine, but Saturday beckons with about 50 rugby games ahead of me to watch. A good sky guy comes over on Sat arvo and installs new box and wipes the 300 movies, docos, kids programmes and dodgy stuff i had in there recorded on the planner... I am slightly pissed off by this (not as much as the missus) but I think its a small price to pay to have it all working again. I record all RWC games and feel like some sort of television king ...in control on his remote as guys should be.

But alas after 24 hours... this box then fucks up again.... I can't believe what iss happening. Was this because I sucked at rugby as a child? And this time ita worse with freezing pictures, a remote that doesn't function and when it does work the kids have jammed it on the Nickelodeon channel so thats all I can get.

All 48 RWC 2011 games live... not in my house buddy... Sky sort your shit out, what's with the faulty mySky boxes...who's running your ship, Len Brown?!

Well Rog, I think you need to get them on the phone while you're on air. Give those wankers a real serve and tell them they owe you one months free rental for every game you've missed. Then if they don't play ball ask you're dedicated fan base to all do exactly the same thing on your behalf...... i'm sure after we all call for you they'd soon sort their shit out.

Rog ring them up and tell them who you are. They'll sort you out pretty quick considering you're a radio personality that everyone who listens to The Rock knows....

Either that or get Robert and Jono to punk them on wind up your wife.

We had a problem with our decoder for about 12 months and the technician came out and said it was their satelite that was making the decoder change channels. (What ever tosser) this went on for 12 months. Rang them back and they sent out a kiwi instead of an Iraqui and he gave me a different model decoder. Never had a problem since. ^ weeks later they rang me and offered free MYSKY with no contract no install fee no charges what so ever. Good score stay on my existing plan with a mysky box.

Sky are total CRAP , RIP OFF and TIME WASTERS, We had sky then when we moved house it didnt work, kept saying rain fade on a sunny day! We had technicans come round 3 times and couldnt fix it, so I told them to stick it up their ass, they wanted to charge me $50.00 for every time the technican came out then again for terminating my contract ! i had a go at them and managed to get refunded for my termination and the technicans, They still call me and send me mail to go back to sky, I made a formal complaint asking for them not to contact me via ph / mail again and they said I had been taken off yet I got a phone call the other day!!!

Yo, all hail the Rock! I do not have Sky at all any more - to damn expensive cause they milk their monopoly. But get this: first time I cancelled the subscription in May, they plainly ignored it and sent me another monthly invoice. And although they apparently record all phone calls "to improve customer service" that recording could not be retrieved. Righto, half a month more then til mid June. As there is no Sky office or contractor here in Wanaka, they promised to send a courier bag so I can send back their receiver. None arrived. But another invoice. :-) Another 3 promises and 3 invoices for their receiver later I now finally have the bag to send them back their property. What a customer service, harassing me with invoices because they can't send out a bloody courier bag for MONTHS!!! Pathetic!

@Peter #1 - iSky doesn't incur data usage on any provider. Sky has an agreement with all ISPs that iSky traffic isn't counted in the data caps.
