Dave Grohl is currently filming an audio documentary at the studio where Nirvana recorded Nevermind. The Foo Fighters frontman is getting various musicians who’ve worked there in the past to come in and record new songs, using the same equipment. Although the details are being kept under wraps, its understood that so far those involved in the sessions include Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen, Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon and Corey Taylor from Slipknot.
Russell Crowe and director Ron Howard have led the tributes to Muhammad Ali's boxing trainer Angelo Dundee, who died on Wednesday at the age of 90. Dundee was being treated for a blood clot found after a trip to visit Ali in Kentucky for the legends 70th birthday last month, and passed away surrounded by his loved ones in a rehabilitation center in Tampa, Florida. Dundee served as a longtime cornerman in the ring to Ali at the height of the boxer's career, and also helped train legends including Sugar Ray Leonard and George Foreman.
A Croatian hospital has framed and mounted a selection of objects that have been removed from patients' bodies over the last 80 years. Needles, buttons, coins, animal bones and even a metal communist red star swallowed by patients have been carefully mounted in display boxes. They also have a collection of items that patients had asked to be surgically removed after, they claimed, accidentally sitting on them. These include TV controls, salt pots, sex toys and deodorant cans.
