Nintendo’s latest console, the Wii U, has been launched in New Zealand stores today.
There are currently 24 games available for the console, including Call of Duty: Black Ops II, FIFA 13, ZombiU, Nintendo Land and Super Mario Bros U.
The new features of the Wii U include the Wii U GamePad, a controller that features a touchscreen tablet. In addition to the touchscreen functionality, the GamePad is surrounded by buttons, bumpers, thumbsticks and triggers that are traditionally found on a modern-day game controller.
There's also a camera, stylus, microphone, headphone jack and speakers. The Wii U is the first Nintendo console to support high-definition graphics, capable of producing video output up to 1080p, and has 2 GB of RAM with half dedicated to the console's operating system.
