Jeremy Pickford's Profile
Name? Jeremy Pickford.

Age? 30. Ouch. I dropped the 30 bomb.

Where did you grow up? All over the place… Morrinsville, Cambridge, Waihi mainly. But I learned to drink in Hamilton and became a grown up in Auckland (the 09).

Partner? Kids? Certainly no kids. I think. My girlfriend is Tammy who is a freak – in that she is so level headed that it disturbs me. But in a good way.

Work history? Wow… done some Pizza Delivery, Acting, Music (watch the De Lorean ride at The Empire most weekends!) Field Engineer Coordination (sorry Datacom, I hated the work – not the people though!).

How long have you been working at The Rock? Since May 15 2009. Not long ay? :)

What’s the best thing about working at The Rock? I love the job. It’s great to wake up every day and do something you really enjoy. Plus the people are so cool and supportive. So far…

What’s the worst thing about working at The Rock? Early starts. But that’s okay. We will become friends one day.

Career highlights? Which career in particular? Scoring this job would pretty much be it so far!

What’s the dumbest thing you have ever done? Are you serious? Ran naked through Morrinsville Primary School on my first day. That would be up there. Sadly, the other ones I am thinking of also include nudity. Yeah…

What are your favourite bands? I will never get over U2. They have so many amazing songs it’s ridiculous. Also grew up learning guitar off Ten, Vs, and Vitalogy – so Pearl Jam are huge. Right now, I tell you what, Luger Boa and Midnight Youth are freaks. Buy their sh*t and go watch them. Jimmy Christmas and Jeremy (not me, the Midnight Youth one) – my lord can those guys sing. Me so jealous.

What do you drive? What do you think it says about you? I drive a Holden Vectra Station Wagon. I think it says I have to drive a manual, I play in a band, and that was the best car I could get at the time. The boot space is a bonus (thanks Ollie).

What do you do to wind down? Go to sleep. It’s right there and very under-rated. Day and night. Have yourself a sleep P fiends.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given? “Have you ever wanted to go to Radio School?” – Radio ad I heard while miserable circa September 2008.

What’s your favourite sport on telly? Cricket. I can’t believe I can sit and watch 22 men in white f*ck around for 5 days. If only life would stand still.

Which Super 14 team do you support? The Chiefs. It’s been a rough road, and I have had to use that old excuse “NPC is real rugby” more than once. But go the Chiefs. Make the ‘Tron proud.

Do you play any sports? HA HA! I’m so unco that it’s funny. Seriously? Remember Lance Cairns bowlin?. I look worse, and I could never get that many wickets. I think I make Chris Martin look like Bradman.

How do you like your coffee? Very occasionally. I try not to drink coffee much. It make me crazy. So I try to drink water. All the time.

Favourite beer/beverage? I can pretty much drink any beer. Except Japanese Rice Beer. Seriously WTF? If I want rice, I’ll have Chinese or Indian. Or go on Survivor and win a personal challenge. Actually I would rather do the Amazing Race. Beverage what?

Favourite fast food?  I like Subway quite a bit but I’m trying to cut back cos I’m cheap. Depends on my mood too. Pizza is sometimes delightful. Plus I can cook fairly well, which makes it easier to not get fast food. I also have a thing for salad.

Any parting words of wisdom? Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha! I see what you did there. Very clever.

I used to work with Jeremy. He used to be a real dry balls. Actually to think of it, maybe I was the miserable circa September 2008. Now that he is on the rock I think hes really cool when he does the talking on the radio thing and the giving away of Prizes from his closet. I always knew he would come out of the closet sooner than later. He always was a generous guy and used to share his Vegemite sandwiches with me at Lunch Time. Im so proud of him and the Singing Bee Appearance.
