China cracking down on strippers at funerals

weird shit 23/02/2018

Rural areas of China have found a way to encourage higher attendance at their loved ones funerals. Hire strippers.

Some rural Chinese communities are also known for blowing a shitload of cash on hiring comedians, actors or models to attend their loved ones funerals.

Bloody genius.

Unfortunately, Chinese authorities don't feel so positive about this custom and have vowed to put an end to the risque funeral entertainment.

Reportedly the strippers are known for moving through the pews and rubbing mens crothces.

Albeit, it does sound a little strange to be getting a rub down while saying good bye to the deceased, people are always saying "they would have wanted us to be happy." Right??

Plus, much like here, in China the more people at your funeral the more honoured and loved you are. Strippers is one sure way to lock that down.

I don't take the performances as 'trash of traditional rural culture.' It has an inheritance of local civilization,

One expert spoke to the Global Times and attributed the practice partly to China's fertility worship.

"In some local cultures, dancing with erotic elements can be used to convey the deceased's wishes of being blessed with many children," Huang Jianxing, a university professor, said.

"I don't take the performances as 'trash of traditional rural culture.' It has an inheritance of local civilization," he added.

"Rather than simply decrying them, it is more important for the authorities to provide the rural people with finer cultural products."

Or just let em keep their strippers... and bring em over here...
