Chad Kroeger says Stone Sour are "trying to be Nickelback"

Music 20/06/2017

Shots have been fired from Nickelback's frontman, Chad Kroeger, towards Corey Taylor and his bands Stone Sour and Slipknot, and it's probably not going to end well...

In a recent interview with Metal Covenant, Kroeger started tooting his own horn about how "diverse" Nickelback are, and challenged the interviewer to name a group as diverse.

When the bloke replied with "Stone Sour", Kroeger turned maddog and said:

Yeah, because they’re trying to be Nickelback.

His reason being that Corey Taylor has said some "really nasty things" about him before, and added they have no hit songs.

“They’re okay, but they’re not as good as Nickelback. They sound like ‘Nickelback Lite,' he added.

Kroeger also went on to trash Slipknot, saying: “They had to put on masks and jump around. How good can your music be if you’ve got to beat each other up on stage, throw up in your own masks every night? And he got tired of sitting behind a mask — he wanted people to know what he looks like — so he started Stone Sour.”

Does someone wanna tell Chad that Corey started Stone Sour in 1992... three years before Slipknot formed, and five years before he actually joined Slipknot?

Awkward.
