Ford is recalling over 1.5 million cars because the steering wheels are falling off

Ford is in the process of recalling 1.4 million cars because the steering wheels have been falling off. Bit bloody scary.

Allegedly the bolts in the wheel are loosening over time, and will now be replaced with longer ones.

There are two car accidents that have been caused by the steering wheel problem so far. Plus one driver had their steering wheel fall clean onto their lap as they turned into a gas station.

US regulators have pressured the car company to recall their 'midsize' cars, including the Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ models which were made between 2014 and 2018.

The problem has affected drivers across Mexico, Canada and the US. It's unclear/unlikely this will effect New Zealand at this stage.

Regardless, stay safe out there team.
