Led Zeppelin are remastering 'The Song Remains The Same' for 50th anniversary and we're frothing

Led Zep's 50th anniversary is coming up, and they plan to mark it with a remastered reissue of the soundtrack to their concert film 'The Song Remains the Same'.

It's due on the 7th September, the date Led Zeppelin played their first ever gig back in 1968, under the name New Yardbirds.

Jimmy Page supervised the remastering of the album, which features recordings from a three-night concert set they played in 1973 at Madison Square Garden in New York - including a half-hour-long rendition of 'Dazed and Confused' and an extended drum solo by John Bonham during 'Moby Dick'.

The album will be released in both CD and vinyl. Jimmy Page amended the vinyl tracklisting to include several songs that weren't included in the original release, as well as the entire performance of 'Dazed and Confused'. It will also be available digitally and as a Blu-ray audio release - featuring video of four songs not in the original film.

This is one we're going to want to get our hands on.
