Rammstein confirm a new album is coming in 2019

The never ending loop of new Rammstein album rumours is almost as much of a trigger for Rock listeners as the Tool album chat... But, alas, according to guitarist Paul Landers a new album is 100% locked down for a 2019 release.

Landers told Music Radar; “Right now, it looks like this new record will be coming out next Spring."

In June, ticketing site selling spots at a Rammstein New Years show insinuated the new album would arrive before the end of this year. However, Landers himself has revealed it will likely be ready in Spring (so our Autumn, March -Aprilish).

Landers explained; "What we’ve been mainly doing is playing together in a circle with all the guys in one room. We all go into the mixing desk and I had my PL1 prototype [the guitarist's signature Fly Rig pedal] going direct. Same for the some of the other guys - our drummer [Christoph Schneider] has these electronic drums, so we’ve been using that to play a bunch of ideas together."

This is different from previous Rammstein efforts, where the members have preferred to work alone on production aspects. So interested to hear what this more collaborative approach means for their sound.

"The basic idea is you are hearing a band playing… you could say it’s inspired by our live sound. That’s exactly what we’re going for."

We'll keep you posted as more details emerge.
