Slipknot split with percussionist Chris Fehn over 'money dispute'

Rock News 19/03/2019

Beer keg smashing precussionist Chris Fehn has split with Slipknot, according to a statement on the band's website. The announcement follows a report last week that Fehn was suing the group over a 'money dispute.'

"Slipknot's focus is on making album #6, and our upcoming shows around the world, our best ever," the statement reads.

Chris knows why he is no longer a part of Slipknot.

"We are disappointed that he chose to point fingers and manufacture claims, rather than doing what was necessary to continue to be a part of Slipknot. We would have preferred he not take the path that he has, but evolution in all things is a necessary part of this life.

"Long Live the Knot."

At the time of writing, Fehn has not commented on the split or reported lawsuit.

Slipknots sixth studio album is due to be released on Friday 9 August (Saturday 10 August NZ time) before joining Metallica for one sold out show in New Zealand on 31 October.
