Slipknot's sixth studio album drops today!

Christmas has come all at once for rock fans. A new Tool song yesterday and a full Slipknot album today. How good!

The band's new album 'We Are Not Your Kind' with 14-tracks is now available for Kiwis to buy and stream.  Talking about the new record, guitarist Jim Root said the band had "the most time we've had to write a record, and work stuff out together."

While the industry is moving toward singles, Slipknot wanted to make an album experience, front to back.

Just before the album dropped, the band also released a new smart phone-friendly, vertically shot music video "Birth Control," following on from "Solway Firth" and "Unsainted". Check it out below:

The new album has received rave reviews from those that got to listen to it early.

UK newspaper The Independent said "the rage they capture is universally felt," and Rock news outlet Loudwire went further writing:

It’s uncompromising, unrelenting and unrepentant, and it’s exactly the album Slipknot wanted to hear – maybe for a decade.
