Tool's new album 'Fear Inoculum' continues to set some unreal stats as more sale and stream data comes in.
Tool's back catalogue previously re-entered the NZ Top 40 when it became available to stream, then their new album snatched #1 spot in the Billboard Top 200 from Taylor Swift, and now Chart Data have reveled that 'Fear Inoculum' had the third-highest first week of sales of 2019 so far.
The album debut at #1 selling 270,000 copies, selling more albums than pop stars like The Backstreet Boys, Post Malone and Billie Eilish. How good. But it could have been even better.
Tool's numbers were mostly either pre sale or physical album sales, which quickly sold out in markets around the globe. The band announced a second set of copies would go on sale but their first week numbers could have been much higher.
Either way - how good is it to see Tool displace pop and hip hop stars in the album charts!
