Metallica to headline five massive rock festivals in 2020

We're still scrolling for those NZ dates...

Metallica has just announced they're headling five festivals in the US in 2020.

The band will headline all five Danny Wimmer rock festivals between May and October, including Epicenter (North Carolina), Welcome to Rockville (Florida), Sonic Temple (Ohio), Louder Than Life (Kentucky) and Aftershock (California). Metallica will play two shows at each festival and promise to play 10 unique set lists for each performance.

Unfortunately for us, there was no news about a NZ show and at this stage all of Metallica's 2020 dates are in North and South America.

Earlier this month Metallica postponed their upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand as James Hetfield re-entered rehab.

A note from fellow band members Lars, Kirk and Rob read: "We are truly sorry to inform our fans and friends that we must postpone our upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand."

As most of you probably know, our brother James has been struggling with addiction on and off for many years. He has now, unfortunately, had to re-enter a treatment program to work on his recovery again.

We hope they can confirm that soon!
