This is EPIC news for many Red Hot Chili Pepper fans around the world.

The Chilis shared on their Instagram today that there have been some changes to their lineup - with Josh Klinghoffer departing the band and an old face returning.

The post reads:

The Red Hot Chili Peppers announce that we are parting ways with our guitarist for the past 10 years, Josh Klinghoffer. Josh is a beautiful musician who we respect and love. We are deeply grateful for our time with him, and countless gifts he shared with us.

They then followed up with this bomb:

We also announce, with great excitement and full hearts, that John Frusciante is rejoining our group. Thank you.

How's that news for a Monday morning?

Frusciante featured on many of the band's most successful albums - 1989's Mothers Milk, 1991's Blood Sugar Sex Magik, 1999's Californication, 2002's By The Way and 2006's Stadium Arcadium.

He left the band in 2009 during their extended hiatus and was replaced fulltime by Josh Klinghoffer.
