The Prince of Darkness is standing up and fighting.....for cats.

Ozzy Osbourne has featured in a new ad for PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), speaking out against declawing cats. The poster shows Ozzy with his fingers chopped off - to show what declawing a cat would be like if done to a human.

To be frankly honest, we have never really thought about cats getting declawed before. But cheers to some quick Googling, apparently the practice is a bit misunderstood. Owners who get their cats declawed believe they are just getting a permenant manicure, but it's actually a form of amputation and extremely painful for cats.

It can also cats to change their behaviour, causing them to bite in defense instead of scratching, leading to bacteria transfer (which can be harmful).

Amputating a cat’s toes is twisted and wrong. If your couch is more important to you than your cat’s health and happiness, you don’t deserve to have an animal! Get cats a scratching post—don’t mutilate them for life.

That quote above is from the main man, Ozzy. Yes, the man who once bit the head off a bat (whether intentionally or not) is standing up for animal rights and fighting for our little feline friends. Goes to show people can change huh?

Speaking of pussies losing their fingers - remember that time Rog nearly lost his fingers in a lawnmowing accident? *facepalm*
