In a recent webinar with Tool drummer Danny Carey, he reveals he's really hoping the band write new music while they're not touring.
Nobody really knows when bands will be able to start touring again, but it's pretty obvious that as long as this virus is around, public gatherings won't be allowed. This means Tool may not be able to resume their tour for quite a while, leaving them with a lot more time to focus on new music.
Danny Carey appeared on a Berklee College of Music webinar, where he said he's hoping to link up with Justin Chancellor (bass) and Adam Jones (guitar), to create some new music.
I’m hoping, during this downtime, as soon as we’re able, maybe we’ll get together - Justin and I, and Adam - maybe start hashing out some new Tool stuff in the meantime, maybe write another EP since we’re down and we can’t do anything else.
Although, some fans aren't keeping their hopes up for new music anytime too soon. One commenter wrote "don't get hyped folks. It's Danny who's talking",
While another wrote, "anything short of 13 years is considered “soon” after Fear Inoculum."
