Jack White recently paid tribute to the late Eddie Van Halen in his last minute musical guest spot on Saturday Night Live.
White didn't actually play any of Van Halen's songs. He wrote in an Instagram post before the show:
I won't even insult the man's talent by trying to play one of his songs.
He did, however, switch to a blue guitar that was designed for him by Van Halen himself. He rocked out on it while performing his 2014 solo hit 'Lazaretto.'
Eddie was very kind to me and saw to it that this guitar was made for me to my specs.
As well as his performance of 'Lazaretto', White performed a medley of hits featuring The White Stripes' 'Ball and Biscuit', Blind Willie Johnson's 'Jesus is Coming Soon', and Beyonce's 'Don't Hurt Yourself.'
