Kirk Hammett praises Tye Trujillo's 'Master of Puppets' playing on Stranger Things

Metallica are clearly still fizzing after having their tune feature in Stranger Things episode.

Metallica are clearly still fizzing after having their tune 'Master of Puppets' feature in Stranger Things season four finale episode. Fair enough too!

In the scene, which we're hoping you've watched by now, metal-head Eddie Munson shreds 'Master of Puppets' on his Warlock guitar in the 'Upside Down'.

Adding to the awesomeness of all of this, Metallica's Robert Trujillo revealed that his 17-year-old son Tye was involved in the making of the Stranger-Things-version of the song, by playing additional electric guitar parts for the track.

Robert took to Instagram earlier in the week to have a proud-dad moment, sharing screenshots from the show and a video of Tye's name in the credits.

“That’s my boy,” he wrote. “Proud of ya Tye! Stranger Things finale shredding it on Master of Puppets and big thanks to Kirk Hammett on helping.”

Now, Metallica guitaist Kirk Hammett has weighed in on the praise for Tye.

He shared a photo of himself and Tye together, and wrote in the caption:

"Very proud of my little bro Tye Trujillo who pulled off the lead to Master of Puppets for the Netflix show Stranger Things - and he's not a guitar player but a bass player just like his pop! Impressive!"

Since the finale episode's release, the 1986 song has climbed its way back into global music charts, currently sitting at #15 on NZ's Spotify charts.

A couple of days ago, Metallica uploaded a clip to TikTok of the band performing in Prague. Speaking about their new fans from the show, they commented on the video saying:

"FYI - EVERYONE is welcome in the Metallica Family. Whether you’ve been a fan for 40 hours or 40 years, we all share a bond through music."

Adding, "All of you started at ground zero at one point in time. 🤘🏻"

F**k yeah!
