Metallica responds to epic 'Master of Puppets' scene in 'Stranger Things'

Metallica took to Instagram yesterday (July 6) to praise the creators of the show.

The epic Stranger Things finale scene, which features a guitar solo to Metallica's Master of Puppets, has sparked a response from Metallica themselves.

In the scene, metal-head Eddie Munson performed what he called "the most metal concert ever" shredding 'Master of Puppets' on his Warlock guitar in the 'Upside Down'.

Since the release of the season's final episode, Metallica's 1986 song has re-sparked in popularity around the world. It's currently climbed to #15 in the NZ Spotify charts.

Metallica took to Instagram yesterday (July 6) to praise the creators of the show. They wrote:

"The way The Duffer Brothers have incorporated music into Stranger Things has always been next level, so we were beyond psyched for them to not only include “Master of Puppets” in the show, but to have such a pivotal scene built around it.

"We were all stoked to see the final result and when we did we were totally blown away... it’s so extremely well done, so much so, that some folks were able to guess the song just by seeing a few seconds of Joseph Quinn’s hands in the trailer!! How crazy cool is that?

"It’s an incredible honor to be such a big part of Eddie’s journey and to once again be keeping company with all of the other amazing artists featured in the show."

They signed off the post with some hashtags, including one that says '#EveryoneIsWelcomeInTheMetallicaFamily.'

Later in the day, Metallica's Instagram account also shared a video of the band playing the edgy opening riff to the song while performing in Prague. Have a watch below.

It seems like Metallica fans are just as stoked as the band about the use of the song in the episode, and the new fans that they've gained from it. Their social media pages have a bunch of comments such as:

"For anyone who is getting into Metallica because of Stranger Things, welcome to the family!"

Another comment says, "hope this starts the biggest metal comeback."

We love to see it!
