Watch the video for Dead Favours' new song 'Dig'

It's the Auckland band's debut first single.

Auckland rock band Dead Favours are proud to debut their first single ‘Dig’. The track was produced and recorded by Tom Larkin (Shihad) at his studio in Melbourne and was recorded on the very EMI Neve desk that previously held residency at the legendary York Street studios in Auckland.

The band, although new, are no strangers to the New Zealand music scene. Made up of members of Steriogram, Fire at Will, The Wreckage, Bloodnut and Eqwanox, the members have certainly paid their dues over the last 15 years.

Dead Favours have already played a number of notable shows including supporting The Jordan Luck Band and at the New Zealand Tattoo & Arts Festival in 2016, with 2017 already lining up to be a very busy year.

Debut single 'Dig' is the first of three tracks recorded with Larkin in Melbourne, and a part of an EP scheduled for release in early June.

Funded by NZ on Air, Dead Favours filmed their music video for 'Dig' with the help of director Adam Jones, who's worked with the likes of I Am Giant, Pluto, Elemeno P and Opshop.

The video concept was an “ultimate house party mannequin challenge”, filmed in one continuous shot. Featuring cameos from a heap of legendary New Zealand bands, Jones commented “It’s got to be in my top few favourite videos I’ve worked on”.
