Over the weekend QOTSA interrupted their set at Madrid's Mad Cool festival to make the security let all the punters into the VIP area at the front of the stage.
Security, you’d better let those people in, I’m not playing until you let them in,
You can see where they're coming from - It'd be bloody anti-climatic performing to a enormous, heaving audience, but having a few uppity VIPs who probably don't even look like they want to be there isntead of what would normally be a front-row of the most dedicated fans shmooshed in like sardines, but instead looking at
Bands can vibe off a crowds energy - what a shit yarn, having to vibe off VIPs.
According to NME, Josh Homme stopped the show and yelled: “Security, you’d better let those people in, I’m not playing until you let them in, you’d better let them in because you work for me tonight.”
Security were less than stoked with this turn of events, but eventually let the general public in whilst Homme chanted “That’s right, come on in. It’s a Queens Of The Stone Age concert and you can do whatever you want to do. Let them in or I will walk down there and let them all in.”
Don't miss out on seeing Queens of the Stone Age live in NZ next month. Ticket info here.
