How Good!

Under a month after being shortlisted, the New Zealander of the Year Awards office has announced that The Rock's very own Bryce Casey is leading nominations for the top award.

A total of 337 nominations have been received for the 2020 Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year award, and so far, Bryce has received the most with 175 nominations.

In May, Bryce took to the bowling lane at Pins Lincoln in Auckland for 58 hours of non-stop bowling to raise money for I Am Hope, a foundation started by 2019 New Zelanader of the Year winner Mike King that gives young Kiwis free counseling when they need it most.

With the support of tens of thousands of Kiwis, a whopping $366,602 was raised - all of which went straight to I Am Hope.

Nominations close on September 15 and a shortlist will be announced in December. You can nominate our boy here.

Chief judge Cameron Bennett said the award was not reserved for the "great and the good".

"These are people just like us - people who are concerned about social issues affecting us all in some way. What sets these people apart, though, is that they are taking action. That deserves our respect and recognition."
