Shane Warne, one of Australia's and the world's greatest leg-spinners in the history of cricket, has passed away.
The news was confirmed by Warne's management company, MPC Entertainment, saying the legend had a suspected heart attack.
“It is with great sadness we advise that Shane Keith Warne passed away of a suspected heart attack in Koh Samui, Thailand today, Friday 4 March." Says the company.
The news is the second passing of a cricket great this week with Rod Marsh also suffering a fatal heart attack Friday.
Warne had only just tweeted his sadness over Marsh death less than 24 hours ago saying "he was a legend of our great game & an inspiration to so many young boys & girls."
"Rod cared deeply about cricket & gave so much-especially to Australia & England players. Sending lots & lots of love to Ros & the family. RIP mate".
Tributes for Warne have started by many including Australian Captain, Pat Cummins.
"Warnie was an all-time great. A once-in-a-century type cricketer and his records will live on forever
“We all grew up watching Warnie, idolising him. We all had posters on our walls, had his earings."
