Queens Of The Stone Age tease first new song in 6 years

The band have shared a tease clip of a new song.

Queens Of The Stone Age have shared a short teaser of a new song - and it sounds like it’s gonna be goooood.

The band shared a tweet to Twitter on Monday (May 8), that read: “It’s our special week!” which got fans amped.

Later in the day, they shared another tweet with a 12-second-clip teasing a new song, along with the caption ‘The World’s Gonna End.’

The tease clip shows a topless woman with long red nails hitting a tambourine, next to a spinning globe on fire. She lip syncs along to the lyrics. “I don’t care what the people know / The world’s gonna end in a month or so.” The clip ends with a still cartoon wreath with a bloody slash through the middle.

The band have been teasing cryptic messages across their website and social media lately, leading fans to believe a new album will be dropping soon.

They recently updated their social media profile picture to an updated version of their logo, and if you head to their website shop, you’ll see a big snake slithering across the screen above a message that simply reads, “Soon…”

A billboard was also put up in London’s Broadway Market on Monday night, which reads ‘Long Live The Queens,’ with the ‘s’ looking as if it was graffitied onto the poster. Below the text is a crest, and the same wreath we saw in the tease clip.

Rumours are swirling on the QOTSA subreddit too, with fans believing the forthcoming album is called ‘In Times New Roman,’ and they reckon it’ll feature the likes of Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl and ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons.

None of these rumours have been officially confirmed by the band, but if the rumours are true, we should be getting our first QOTSA album since their 2017 Villains, soon.

Whether it's a new album or a new song, the boys are definitely brewing something for us.
