Metallica are headlining a festival... on Fortnite

Metallica is heading to Fortnite as part of their season 4 Festival.

Metallica have just announced their next concert, and the great news is you’ll be able to watch it live in New Zealand.

What's the catch? You’ll need to borrow your kids' Fortnite account...

Epic Games has shared that Metallica will be the latest band to play a virtual concert as part of the ‘Fortnite Festival’.

The concert, titled ‘Metallica: Fuel. Fire. Fury’, will be taking place later this month across 6 different timeslots on June 23rd, and 24th.

“We’ve been lucky enough to perform on every continent on the planet, so we set our sights on Fortnite as our next stop.” says the band on their website.

Metallica will also be a part of Fortnite’s new ‘Battle Stage’ where 16 players will be able to go head-to-head, playing a four-song setlist to be ‘the last one standing when the curtain comes down’.

“Now THIS is a collaboration,” wrote one fan on YouTube with others being quick to share how unreal the news is.

“This is the best thing Fortnite has ever done”

“I’ve watched this at least 94 times now I’m so hyped”

Along with the concert, Metallica also announced a ‘Fortnite x Metallica’ merch collaboration, available from their store.
