A stuntman has completed an impressive 10 storey free-jump for upcoming videogame adaptation Assassin's Creed.

The 'Leap of Faith' is one of the game series' more distinctive features, in which the player dives off a hugely tall structure and lands, unharmed, in cushioning material below.

In the big screen version, stunt double Damien Walters carries out a real-life leap of faith from a height of 38.1m, one of the highest free falls performed by a stuntman in almost 35 years.

20th Century Fox has released a video of the daring stunt to promote Assassin's Creed ahead of its December release.

The film stars Michael Fassbender in the lead role as Callum Lynch, who explores the memories of his ancestor Aguilar and gains the skills of a master assassin, before discovering he is a descendant of the secret assassin society.

Assassin's Creed is to join a long list of videogame adaptations, many of which are much-maligned by both film and game fans. Recent examples include Warcraft, Need for Speed, The Angry Birds Movie, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Hitman: Agent 47.
