Dave Grohl's mum is writing a book about what it's like to raise a rock star

Dave Grohl's mum, Virginia Hanlon Grohl, is about to release a book co-written with other mothers about what it's like to be a rockstar's parent.

'From Cradle to Stage: Stories From the Mothers Who Rocked and Raised Rock Stars' will be a collection of words from the mums of Dave Grohl, Mike D (Beastie Boys), Dr Dre, Michael Stipe (REM), Amy Winehouse and more.

Virginia asks other mums questions like: “Were they as surprised as she was about their children’s fame? Did they worry about their children’s livelihood and wellbeing in an industry fraught with drugs and other dangers? Did they encourage their children’s passions despite the odds against success, or attempt to dissuade them from their grandiose dreams? Do they remind their kids to pack a warm coat when they go on tour?”

Dave Grohl even helped out by writing a foreword in the book, alongside exclusive family photographs of Dave growing up.

'From Cradle To Stage...' is set to be released April 25, 2017.
