The WBO has ordered Joseph Parker and Andy Ruiz to fight for its vacant heavyweight boxing world title.

ESPN boxing analyst Dan Rafael tweeted that a source in the room at the WBO convention in San Juan confirmed the fight will be held on December 10 in New Zealand.

Duco Events spokesman, Craig Stanaway, has confirmed that the reports from the convention are on the money, but at this stage no contract is in place.

It's understood both parties are close to agreeing on a December 10 date for the fight to be held in New Zealand.

Meanwhile the Telegraph has reported that Brit, David Haye, has been placed in line to fight the winner of the Parker and Ruiz bout.

Haye would essentially become a mandatory challenger to the new champion, and a fight would need to take place in the UK by April 2017.
