US President Donald Trump has interrupted a call with the Irish leader to compliment a reporter - with a throng of journalists watching on.
Distracted on his phone call with Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, Mr Trump turned his attention to a blonde reporter in the room.
The reporter was RTE Washington correspondent Caitriona Perry, who shared video of the strange encounter on Twitter on Wednesday.
Shortly after telling Mr Varadkar he feels like he knows every Irish-American personally, Mr Trump called over a member of the "beautiful" Irish press.
When RTÉ's Washington correspondent Caitríona Perry walked to the Oval Desk, Mr Trump lost interest in her Prime Minister on the other end of the phone.
"We have all of this Irish, beautiful Irish press here…she has a nice smile and face," the President said.
