Dozens of swimmers have been injured after a pool malfunctioned and decided to became a 'tsunami pool' instead.

Forty-four people were hurt in the incident, with five remaining in hospital with injuries including fractured ribs, according to The South China Morning Post, which quoted an announcement by the local government.
"According to the initial stages of the investigation, the incident was caused by a power cut that damaged electronic equipment in the tsunami pool control room, which led to the waves in the tsunami pool becoming too big and injuring people," government officials were reported as saying.
