WATCH: "The Batman" debuts its first trailer with Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight

Not gonna lie, this looks pretty damn good.

Not gonna lie, this looks pretty fucking awesome.

We were a bit suspect at the thought of ANOTHER new take on Batman - let alone Robert Pattinson (the guy from Twilight?? we hear you cry) - as many people think the superhero character shouldn't be touched again after Christopher Nolan's incredible Dark Knight trilogy (where Christian Bale played the lead role).

But - much like the rest of the internet - we were pleasantly surprised when the new Batman trailer dropped over the weekend, which shows a gritty, dark world with a growling Pattinson set to Nirvana's excellently haunting song "Something In The Way".

The two-minute teaser shows a dark Gotham City overrun with crime that leaves Batman and his police partner James Gordon to figure out a disturbing murder mystery.

"From your secret friend ... Let's play a game, just me and you," Wright's Gordon reads from a card left at a murder scene addressed to "the Batman."

The trailer also shows a new batmobile and features glimpses of Zoë Kravitz, who is playing Selina Kyle aka Catwoman.

If you like what you see, then heads up - you gonna have to wait a little while for this to hit cinemas. Originally set to hit theaters in June 2021, filming was pushed back because of the coronavirus pandemic impacting its production.

The Batman is set to hit theaters just in time for Halloween on October 1, 2021.
