HOW GOOD

This is the first trailer for upcoming mini-series 'Jonah' - a powerful look at the life of rugby legend Jonah Lomu.

utrageous Fortune star Craig Hall will take on the pivotal role of All Black's doctor John 'Doc' Mayhew, while coach Laurie Mains will be portrayed by Joel Tobeck, known from Eagle vs Shark and Mortal Engines

Kelson Henderson, who has appeared in Avatar and 30 Days of Night, will play Lomu's larger than life manager, Phil Kingley Jones.

The man tasked with filling the biggest boots in world rugby, however, is fairly new on the scene. Recent Toi Whakaari graduate Mosese Veaila, 21, will tackle the iconic role of Lomu.

Standing 1.98m (6ft 6in), Veaila certainly has the stature to play the Kiwi sporting legend, who burst onto the global rugby stage as a teen in 1994. At 19 years and 45 days old, he was the youngest-ever All Black to take don the black jersey.

Lomu's extraordinary talent on the field saw him become one of the most celebrated players of all time, before his untimely death from a heart attack in 2015.

Funded by NZ On Air, Jonah promises to tell the real-life tale of a sporting legend who "stood head and shoulders above the rest".

Jonah will air over two nights on Three in August.
