A German court has made a landmark ruling - a hangover is now officially recognised as an "illness."
The verdict came after a distributor tried to market a food supplement as an "anti-hangover drink," but the court ruled that would violate a ban on attributing a food products ability to prevent, treat or heal medical illnesses.
Judges found that an illness should be defined broadly to protect people's health, and said the term covers "any, even a slight or temporary, disruption of the body's normal condition or normal activity."
"Information about a food product cannot ascribe any properties for preventing, treating or healing a human illness or give the impression of such a property."
That includes headaches and other symptoms that result from consuming alcohol, "a harmful substance."
Bosses everywhere are said to be pissed about the courts decision. Also, we're ill and won't be in tomorrow.
