Anything Kurt Cobain is a hot commodity among rock fans. But now a big is up for auction: the iconic cardigan the singer wore for his 1993 MTV Unplugged performance.

As reported by CBS News, the unmistakably shaggy, olive green cardigan was worn by the rocker layered over a white T-shirt and colorful dress shirt when Cobain hit the stage November 18, 1993, at Sony Studios in New York City. That performance, of course, was memorialized on Nirvana's subsequent live album MTV Unplugged in New York.

The cardigan's starting bid is set at $50,000 USD, with an estimated sale price of $200,000 - $300,000 USD. Check out the aution here

That's not all that Julien's Auctions will ultimately transfer to the highest bidder after the 'Icons & Idols: Rock 'N' Roll' auction to be held October 25th and 26th. Also on the block is one of Cobain's "custom-built left-handed Fender Mustang" guitars he used "during Nirvana's In Utero tour," according to a press release excerpt highlighted below. The turquoise-colored axe was previously seen at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

"At the center stage of this event will be two important items tied to the legacy and iconography of one of rock music’s most signature artists, Nirvana's Kurt Cobain, including his custom-built left-handed Fender Mustang guitar during Nirvana’s In Utero tour as well as his vintage olive-green cardigan worn at Nirvana’s most defining performance and one of rock history’s best live performances ever recorded, on MTV’s Unplugged in New York."

The guitar's starting bid is set at $75,000 USD, with an estimated sale price of $300,000 - $500,000 USD. You can view it here.
