Metallica's Lars Ulrich has shared and update on fellow bandmate James Hetfield after he recently entered rehab.
Last month, Metallica cancelled the Australian and New Zealand tour dates of the WorldWired tour so Hetfield could deal with his “struggles with addiction.” Now Ulrich has shared a promising update on Hetfield's progress and even a potential date for the band to play again in New Zealand with USA Today.
"He's doing what he needs to; he's in the process of healing himself," he said.
"Along the way, there's obviously an occasional bump in the road."
Ulrich also shared his surprise at the reaction from fans after Hetfield entered rehab.
I think the biggest surprise is just how positive the feedback has been from our fans and friends and peers alike," said Ulrich. "It's very heartwarming, and it's just blown our minds how much love and appreciation and support we've gotten in the last week since we had to postpone this. It's an incredible thing."
All the best James! We hope to see you and the band in New Zealand soon.
