A 12-year-old battler has been rushed to hospital to remove 31 magnetic balls from his bladder.

The child, from China, admitted he inserted the magnetic balls into his penis while "exploring" his anatomy. The toys travelled up the boy's urethra, eventually becoming stuck in his bladder. Ouch.

After complaining of severe abdominal pains, the boy was taken to hospital and underwent surgery - two months after the mishap.

The toys, known as Buckyballs, proved "very difficult" for doctors to retrieve due to their magnetic properties.

"They tend to slip when trying to grasp them, or they form a large ball-shaped cluster," said urologist Dr Wang Jun, according to the Mirror.

To avoid the need for more invasive surgery, doctors pumped air into the 12-year-old's bladder to effectively locate and remove the Buckyballs.

He is expected to make a full recovery, with helluva yarn to tell at his 21st.
