Sony has officially announced the price and release date of the Playstation 5.
The gaming console will release in NZ on November 12 with a price of $819.95, with a digital only version of the console releasing on the same day for $649.95.
The news follows Microsoft announcing its rival console the Series X will launch in Aotearoa two days earlier on November 10 for $799, alongside a cheaper, less powerful Series S for $549.
The PS5 price and release date was revealed in a livestreamed showcase that included new looks at several upcoming games for the console.
