The Grammys paused to remember Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins just over a week after his sudden death in Columbia.
The Foos were nominated for Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Song and Best Rock Album and they won all three awards - but none were in attendance on the night as they grieved the huge loss of a bandmate and legendary musician.
Host Trevor Noah paid tribute to Taylor in a solemn moment during the ceremony, saying "this would have been the part of the show that I was introducing the Foo Fighters".
"We would have been celebrating with them as they won three Grammys," he said.
A video tribute to Taylor featured archival footage of gigs, home videos and photos of the drummer doing what he does best, set to the band's 2006 hit 'My Hero'.
"He's the best drummer in the world, we love him so much," frontman Dave Grohl can be heard saying on the tape.
Billie Eilish also wore a t-shirt with Taylor's face and name on it during her Grammys performance.
It's fair to say the Foo Fighters will be laying low for the foreseeable future, having cancelled all of their upcoming shows, including their New Zealand tour date.
