Glastonbury crowd sings 'Seven Nation Army' riff so loud Jack White stops playing guitar

Duuuuun, dun, dun, dun, dun, duuun, dun!

Goosebump-inducing footage from Glastonbury 2022 shows Jack White ditching his guitar as the 200,000-strong crowd roars the ‘Seven Nation Army’ riff.

It’s an iconic tune that we all know and love and the massive crowd at Glastonbury is no different. At around 3:30 in the clip below, the White Stripes frontman asks the crowd to belt out the riff as loud as they can.

The crowd responds wholeheartedly.

White prompts his drummer to keep the music going, then screams at the crowd:

“Louder! Louder!”

They did, in fact, get louder - to the point where White started singing the lyrics along with them, basically making the audience an instrument and part of the band.

Pretty fucking rock n roll!

Commenters on the BBC Music YouTube page are loving the performance almost as much as we are.

Fans even drew comparisons to iconic festival sets of the past, such as Woodstock.

The energy at Glastonbury has been incredible judging by all the videos we’ve come across, including at Paul McCartney’s set there, where he brought out Bruce Springsteen and Dave Grohl.
