Kiwi lad invents 'absolutely cursed' Blue V-infused mince and cheese pie, revolutionises smoko

The image of raw mince marinating in Blue V will keep me up at night.

One New Zealander’s quest to change Kiwi lunchtimes forever may have gone too far, as the mad lad went and made a Blue V-infused mince and cheese pie.

Sharing the creation to the New Zealand subreddit, u/AvailingPiano decided to make the ‘Vie’ - as it’s called - to streamline smokos.

“While fighting off a Covid fever I had the brilliant idea to make the classic Kiwi lunch more efficient,” they said.

“By combining a Blue V and a pie into a single entity I have effectively given tradies an extra hand they can now use while eating lunch. After convincing my girlfriend that I had not actually lost my taste to Covid, she agreed to help me turn this Covid dream into reality.”

Describing the taste, the creative baker said it wasn’t too shabby, just “far too sweet”.

If you are interested in how the Vie came to be, ol’ mate shared photos of him making it. Be warned, some of these pictures are grim.

Like the one where he marinates the mince with Blue V, and then adds blue food colouring “to give the meat a Blue V feel. Also as a warning sign.”

Kiwi commenters on the post are impressed, disgusted and curious, like when your mate tells you about a weird sex show they went to in Thailand.

“An abomination and a masterpiece, all at once,” wrote one person. “This will haunt my nightmares.”

“This makes me feel strange emotions that scare me,” said another. “You flew too close to the sun and now we can never go back.”

“Absolutely cursed but someone had to do it,” another added.

“Everyone is joking but this guy has single-handedly cut down the time of construction in nz,” one more wrote. “Truly an innovator.”

Honestly, I really want to try the Vie. It could, as planned, revolutionise lunchtime at schools and worksites across the country. Why wouldn’t you wanna be on board the bandwagon early?
