Queens of the Stone Age to release a new Christmas song for charity, 'Silent Night'

Rock News 05/12/2018

Yes you read that correctly - Queens of the Stone Age are getting amongst the Christmas action.

The band revealed on their Instagram that they will be releasing not only a new Christmas song for charity, 'Silent Night', but also a reading of the classic Christmas tale 'Twas the Night Before Christmas.

Silent Night will feature Australian blues singer-songwriter C.W. Stoneking (great surname), and will be available both on 7" vinyl and to stream.

'Twas The Night Before Christmas features on the B-side and will feature Brody Dalle, Josh Homme and "their three merry-making elves".

The single will be digitally released on December 7 and the vinyl will be out one week later on December 14.

Proceeds will go toward a non-profit charity "Sweet Stuff Foundation", which Homme created in 2013 to help musicians, recording engineers and their families struggling with illness and disability. Which is bloody nice.

We're not big into Christmas music and will reserve judgement on it until we hear it, but please please please don't be terrible.
