Slash confirms Guns N' Roses 'to put a new record out' and 'get back touring'

Slash has announced the Guns N' Roses intend to put a new album out, and thankfully for fans, the band's already started writing and recording new material.

It's no secret that Slash has wanted to make a new GNR record for some time now. New comments from the legendary guitarist confirm that will happen and after its release the band will likely hit the road for another world tour.

Talking with Rock City, Slash gave an update on the new project:

“Axl (Rose), Duff (McKagan), myself and Richard (guitars) have all talked about… there’s material and stuff going on already for a new record,” he said.

"It's just, with Guns N' Roses, you don't go, 'Oh, there is a plan, and it's gonna be like this,' because that's not how it works.

So, basically, the only real answer to give is we're hoping to put a new record out, and we'll just see what happens when it happens.

In 2018 Slash told Kerrang: “Axl’s got a ton of s--- that he recorded already, so we’re going to get in there and just start getting into that thing, and then if we do a record and then do a tour, I could see that cycle going on endlessly.”

Guns N’ Roses guitarist Richard Fortus teased fans back in December when he said a new album could arrive "faster than you think."

Last week Fortus said: "Slash is on tour right now. Once he gets back from that, we're gonna get some more recording done and hopefully get an album out soon. And then we'll get back to touring."

In January, frontman Axl Rose released his first new song in a decade, "Rock the Rock," for an episode of Boomerang's animated series "New Looney Tunes"

Guns N' Roses’ last feature album was Chinese Democracy, released in 2008.
