Lars Ulrich of Metallica hints at second 'Garage Inc. 2' covers album

Doooo it lads!

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has hinted that a follow up to the band's 1987 '$5.98 E.P.: Garage Days Re-Revisited’ and 1998 'Garage Inc.' covers album could be on its way.

Ulrich was recently asked by a fan in Kerrang! if the band were going to make a 'Garage Inc. 2', to which he responded:

"Wait and see..."

Okay, so it's barely confirmation. But he didn't shut down the idea.

The 'Garage Inc.' record was a collection of all the bands Metallica early influences,  including covers of Black Sabbath, Diamond Head, Mercyful Fate and Misfits.

Guitarist Kirk Hammett added that critics no longer affect how he views the band's work.

“None of the critics are as bad as the critics in our heads,” said Hammett.

“Really, at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what the fuck they say. If I’ve satisfied that critic in my head, then I’ve overcome my own hurdles.”

Let's hope that includes more covers.

Metallica will tour NZ for the first time since 2010 in October. Get your tickets here.
