WATCH: AC/DC share rare vintage 'Highway to Hell' performance for 40th anniversary

AC/DC have kicked off a "month long" 40th anniversary celebration of their landmark 'Highway to Hell' album by releasing a rare live recording from 1979.

Recorded on Dutch TV at the time and only ever released on the band's 2007 'Plug Me In' DVD box set, the performance has now appeared on the band's YouTube page.

'Highway to Hell' was the last AC/DC album with original lead singer Bon Scott, who died from alcohol poisoning one year after this live performance in 1980. See the full video below.

The video was posted 3 hours after AC/DC reactivated their Instagram and posted a brief teaser on Facebook with the caption "Celebrate with us all month long! ⚡️#H2H40."

It was rumored late last week that AC/DC will announce a new album soon as a tribute to late guitarist Malcom Young, and potentially head out on another world tour.

We'll have to wait and see what news comes out in the next month.
