This is no stitch-up

New music without "any genre restrictions” is on the way from former Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello and System of a Down members Serj Tankian and John Dolmayan.

The three rock legends have joined Avenged Sevenfold singer M. Shadows on a new album from his These Grey Men project announced back in 2014. At the time, the album was rumoured to feature cover of Radiohead, David Bowie and Outkast.

Luckily, we won’t have to wait long to hear the finished product. System of a Down drummer John Dolmayan recently told fan group SOAD Mexico:

It will be released within the next four months.

“All the songs are finished, but we’re in the process of adding strings… And then, we’re actually starting to mix some of the songs that have already been done."

"Serj sang two songs, and the Avenged Sevenfold singer, Matt, he sang a song. And then I have a bunch of other friends that came. Tom Morello played guitar on a song."

Interestingly, Dolmayan reckons the album has been written and produced without any genre restrictions.

“As for what it’s going to sound like, it’ll definitely have a rock feel, but not limited by any genre restrictions,” he said.

“Listeners are going to hear a plethora of sounds and styles.”

We can't wait to hear the album.
