After 11 seasons spanning over what will be 11 years, AMC has announced The Walking Dead is officially coming to an end.
The horror-zombie show became widely successful around the globe since it debuted back in 2010, and has had several successful spin off shows too.
The final season will be 24-episodes-long - we’re unsure if these will be released as a single season, or if it will span across a couple.
These final 24 episodes will be available to watch near the end of next year, and will span over to the start of 2022.
However, two spin off shows are to follow the last season.
The Walking Dead chief content officer Scott Gimple said:
We have a lot of thrilling story left to tell on TWD, and then, this end will be a beginning of more Walking Dead -- brand new stories and characters, familiar faces and places, new voices, and new mythologies.
"This will be a grand finale that will lead to new premieres. Evolution is upon us.”
"The Walking Dead lives."
