Be safe on our waterways, look after your mates, and always remember these key safer boating code messages...
Always wear a lifejacket regardless of the conditions
Always check the forecast before heading out; If you're going out on the ocean, check the marine forecast. If you're heading out on the lakes, check the rural forecast.
Always take two waterproof ways to call for help; make sure you carry at least two that will work when wet and that work in the area you're in. Communications equipment includes VHF radio, beacons, flares and cell phones. In parts of our high country lakes, VHF devices will not work. Remember to keep your cellphone in a dry bag!
